Disini Law’s Attorneys Assist in UNESCAP-BOC Report on Cross-Border Paperless Trade

The United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (“UNESCAP”) and the Bureau of Customs (“BOC”) have recently released the Readiness Assessment for Cross-Border Paperless Trade of the Philippines (“Report”) which was prepared, in part, by a team of UNESCAP consultants led by Disini Law’s Managing Partner JJ Disini with Special Counsels, Oliver Xavier Reyes and Ofelia Leaño.

The Report is an assessment of the readiness of the Philippines for cross-border paperless trade or the conduct of international trade based on electronic data and documents. The report is divided into two aspects, i.e., the technical and legal, and is based on the readiness checklists developed by the UNESCAP Interim Intergovernmental Steering Group on Cross-Border Paperless Trade Facilitation.

In 2012, Disini Law also assisted the BOC by preparing a Legal Gap Assessment Report on the National Single Window (NSW) initiative of the ASEAN
