Disini & Disini Law Office is pleased to announce the promotions of Roberto Miguel O. Rañeses from Junior Associate to Mid-level Associate, and Marian B. Salanguit from Mid-level Associate to Senior Associate, effective November 5, 2018.
Atty. Marian Salanguit has been with the firm since February 2018. Upon joining Disini and Disini, she has worked with the firm’s leading practice areas such as data privacy, financial technology, corporate law, and labor law.
She has done excellent work for clients and for various projects of the Firm, especially in reviewing contracts and rendering opinions on various issues concerning different aspects of Philippine law, handling data privacy compliance projects, and counseling on fintech licensing and operations.
Prior to joining Disini and Disini, Atty. Salanguit worked for one of the largest law firms in the country, where she assisted in infrastructure and energy projects. She was also involved in project financing and conducted due diligence reviews for several mergers and acquisitions.
For his part, Atty. Rañeses has been with the firm since January 2017. He has been heavily involved in the various practice areas of Disini and Disini, such as data privacy, litigation, and corporate law. Through his work in these areas, he has been able to make significant contributions to the Firm’s practice, by assisting in the prosecution of violations of the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012 and the Data Privacy Act of 2012. Atty.
Rañeses has also handled matters for corporate clients, including a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment and a global online marketplace and drafts technology-based contracts for corporate clients, including a major Philippine conglomerate. He handled the data privacy compliance efforts of various entities, including a leading open university, an internationally recognized business school, a leading food manufacturer, a multinational BPO company, a major bakeshop chain, and a leading independent power producer.
Both Attys. Salanguit and Rañeses have taken part in initiatives that were aimed at educating the public on data privacy and technology law. These initiatives include those organized by the firm, as well as participation in seminars and conferences of notable organizations.
